San Diego’s one-million-gallon-per-day Pure Water Demonstration Facility began providing free public tours in 2011. Participating in a tour is a great way to learn about the water purification process and get an up-close look at the cutting-edge technology used to clean recycled water to produce safe, high-quality drinking water. You will also find out how the City plans to use the technology to produce 1/3 of San Diego’s water supply locally by 2035.
**IMPORTANT** – This tour is organized by the city and there are limited spaces available. You MUST register on the website to confirm your participation. Go HERE to REGISTER (bit.ly/pure_water_tour). There are currently only 14 spots left available on the tour. (this tour will fill up soon!)
This field trip is part of the Eco-Lifestyle Challenge (local-earth.org/immersion)! Our intention is to inspire participants to be caring and engaged stewards of our local & global environment.
